Due to the high use of social media in Taiwan, false information can spread before anyone has a chance to disprove it, influencing the opinions of voters. To counteract this effect, groups of checkers now work swiftly to verify information as it airs, utilizing technology to protect Taiwan's journalistic integrity and discredit fake news.
